Saturday mornings are the perfect time to enjoy a simple yet delicious quick breakfast. After a busy week, when you want a meal that’s quick, tasty, and satisfying, the bacon and bread omelet is the perfect choice. This quick breakfast combines crispy bread, juicy bacon, creamy eggs, melting cheese, and sour cream, creating the perfect balance of flavors that will wow you.
3 slices of bacon
2 slices of bread
4 eggs (no salt)
3 slices of smoked or regular cheese
3 slices of ham
Sour cream
Sun-dried tomato spread (or 2 sun-dried tomatoes)
Yogurt (optional, for serving on the side)
A bit of oil for frying
1. On medium heat, fry the finely chopped 3 slices of bacon in a pan with a little oil and add 2 slices of bread, which you’ve torn into small pieces by hand. Fry until the bread becomes crispy and golden.
2. In the meantime, whisk 4 eggs in a bowl (without adding salt).
3. When the bacon and bread are golden, pour the eggs evenly over them. Immediately add the torn-up pieces of cheese and ham on top of the eggs.
4. Gently divide the eggs into 4 parts with a spatula and flip them so they cook evenly on both sides.
5. Before finishing, place a dollop of sour cream on the omelet and add a bit of sun-dried tomato spread or chopped sun-dried tomatoes.
6. For the final touch, serve the omelet with yogurt on the side if you like, providing a refreshing contrast to the creamy eggs.
The combination of crispy bacon, crispy bread, and creamy eggs creates an irresistible flavor harmony. This meal is quick, simple, yet rich and satisfying. You don’t need anything on the side – everything you need is in this omelet!
It’s ideal for a quick breakfast or a light dinner. The taste is phenomenal, and it only takes about 15 minutes to prepare. Even kids will love this meal because it’s tasty, nourishing, and fun to eat.
– You can enrich this omelet by adding vegetables like tomatoes or mushrooms for an even richer flavor.
– Instead of cheese, you can use any other cheese of your choice, such as mozzarella or feta.
– If you want the omelet to be heartier, add some seasoning to taste – black pepper, dried herbs, or even a pinch of oregano.
