1. Using fixed composition.  When shooting, put your baby always in the same place with the same toy, using same composition and layout. Although someone will find this a bit boring, it is certainly the best way to see how much the baby progressed compared to the previous month, as well as how the baby changed its face features, mimic and personality.

2. Insert the numbers. You can “number” your baby-photos in a variety of ways. These can be achieved by inserting cards or papers with printed or (even better) hand made numbers, clocks that changes the time according to the corresponding number of month, numbers made up of baby’s toys, numbers made up from a variety of things you can find in the house (such as straws, matches , fruits and other things that comes to your mind).

3. Details related for the particular month. Take a picture of your baby in some funny situation that occurred or in the part of the apartment where it played the most that month. Take a picture of baby’s first time – smiling, sitting, crawling, flipping the month when it first learned to do it …etc

4. Shoot pictures outside. Shooting pictures outside has its charms. You are not situated always in one place, thus the images are never monotone and more dynamic and vivid. 

5. Seasons. Through taking baby monthly pictures not only the baby’s changed will be noticeable, but also the changes of seasons can be captured inevitably, from rays of summer sun to drops of rain and snowflakes in the winter. Take pictures of your baby with the fruits and vegetables typical for that season.

6. Sweeten up things. If you also consider yourself a good cook along with being a good parent, it wouldn’t be a hard task for you to make a themed mini cakes for your baby every month. After taking pictures with it, the fun time begins – enjoying the sweet taste of your hand made products. A win win combination.

7. Sort the baby rompers. Dress your baby in a romper, taking care that on the left side of the baby you arrange baby’s old rompers, sorted from very smallest ones (from first month) to gradually bigger ones.

8. Balloons. Take photos of your baby every month with the number of balloons representing the number of particular month. You can always experiment with sizes, colors, balloon shapes.

9. Family picture. Get in the picture yourself along with the baby. Make a family photo – mom, dad and baby all together.  You’ll notice your baby growing  in your arms.

10. Impressions. Why not write down what happened that month on colored cardboard or blackboard and place it next to the baby during the photo shooting?
